The NWABBA Preston District contest was held in Fleetwood Marine Hall. Pilling came fourth playing the piece 'Aeronauts' by Goff Richards. Morecambe band won the second section of the contest playing the test piece they had prepared so much for the National Finals. Poulton band came sixth and Blackpool were ninth. The Championship section was won by Freckleton with Wingates second.
