The 50th NWABBA Preston District contest was held in Fleetwood Marine Hall on 4th October. Seven bands competed against Pilling in the fourth section. After a good performance, Pilling won the contest with 185 points. The band managed to scoop another three prizes for the ever growing collection. These included winner of the section, conductor of the winning band and best bass section.
