The contest was held at Preston Guild Hall on Sunday 11th February. Twelve bands entered the second section along with Pilling. The band chose the piece 'Oceans' by Goff Richards. Pilling came fourth on the day, with a solid performance. This is the band's best placing in the second section so far.
