Fuzzy Duck Brewery
Fuzzy Duck has a new session beer - 'Shining Wit (3.6%)'. It is brewed to be quite light in colour and strength, making it a refreshing tipple for a hot summer's day.
The Pump & Truncheon, Blackpool now has a Fuzzy Duck Beer permanently on tap - the actual beer will be changed on a weekly basis.
Fuzzy Duck Brewery now has a new beer, 'Cunning Stunt (4.3%)'. It was initially brewed as a one-off but has proved so popular it is to become a regular beer.
I've just brewed a light mild for the beer festival at the Shovels, Blackpool. It is called Featherweight and comes in at just 3.5% ABV.
It's the first Lytham beer festival this weekend and I've brewed a special for the occasion, Mallard Mild (3.5%).
Fuzzy Duck Stout (4.0%) was voted beer of the festival at Fleetwood Marine Hall this weekend out of over 100 different beers. It was shortlisted by customers voting on Thursday night and blind tasted on Friday morning.
I have just been informed that Fuzzy Duck Dark (3.4%) was voted beer of the festival at the Stags Head real ale festival. This beer was only the second gyle to be produced with the new plant.
Today, the first brew was completed on the new 8 barrel plant. The beer chosen was 'Pheasant Plucker' and should start appearing in pubs at the end of the month.
I've just introduced another beer, 'Pheasant Plucker'. It will be launched at the Black Horse beer festival in Darwen on 21st-24th September.
Along with expansion, I am looking for some local regular outlets so that the new brewery is financially viable. If you are interested in having Fuzzy Duck beer in your local pub, please contact me. I could do with the business!
I have just signed the lease for new premises on Poulton industrial estate. Building work starts on Monday! The brewing vessels for an 8 barrel plant are on order and should be delivered early October, ready for the first brew to go on sale a few weeks later.
This morning, the new set of casks arrived! The new casks are the first part of the planned expansion to an 8 bbl plant this autumn.
The recent hot spell might be good for drinking beer but not good for brewing! The last brew fermented a bit too vigirously so I have now installed air conditioning in the fermentation and conditioning area. This should hopefully maintain the quality of the beer during the summer months.
I've changed the look of the pump clips - new designs can be downloaded from the Beer page.
I've just finished drinking the first experimental pint of 'Thumb Ducker'. It will be launched at the Black Horse beer festival in Darwen on 18th May.
I've just invested in a new chiller to help in the brewing process. This should eliminate problems with chill haze and it also cuts half an hour off my time on brew day!
Plans are underway to expand to 8 barrels. I'm currently on the lookout for premises. The main possibilities at the moment are in Pilling, Bispham and Poulton.
